skystreamI went down and visited Roger Crouse and his wife on South Beaver Center Rd. They had the ‘SKYSTREAM 3.7 windmill’ installed on their property in October. I was interested in how it works.

They have only had it installed 4 months and said they have saved 20% on their electric bill. Theirs is a small 400 units an hour if the wind is 12 miles an hour. It starts working when the wind gets up to 8 miles an hour and shuts off at 140 miles an hour. It is silent, I had heard they were noisy but I could not even hear it.

It will take a while to pay for its self, but eventually they will get a lot of free electricity. It uses the energy from the windmill first than when there isn’t enough wind the electric kicks in.

Thanks neighbors for the information.

HAPPY SPRING! I sure am glad that snow is gone.

(SCMCS) - Sisters in Christ Missions Community Service is a non-denominational group consisting of members from 6 Churches. The group meets on the fourth Wednesday of each month, at the Presbyterian Church in Linesville from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The next meeting is on March 24. For anyone that doesn’t know what we do, we make quilts, walker bags, clothing protectors, position pillows, lap robes, Baby Afghans, for the needs of our area.

We bring a sack lunch and have our meeting at noon. We need some new hands that like to do community work.

We could use some yarn if you have some you would like to donate. We welcome new members. Members are urged to bring a guest with them. If you don't know about us and of our good works come and check us out.
