Welcome to another week!

Fallowfield United Methodist Church volunteers made rhubarb, strawberry-rhubarb, and blueberry pies on August 2. They froze the pies and will bake them during Crawford County Fair week, August 21 and 23-28. Is there any chance you can come help us make pies? If so, please come to Fallowfield United Methodist on August 9 and 16 at 5:30 p.m. We need your help.

Fallowfield United Methodist also needs volunteers at 6 a.m., 10 a.m., and 5 p.m. pie bakes. Expect pie bakes to last four hours. If you’d prefer to serve pie and sandwiches, please drive to the Fallowfield Pie Booth at the Crawford County Fairgrounds. Shifts are from 10:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. or from 5 p.m. – closing. If you can’t stay the whole shift, that’s okay.

There is no Senior Citizen luncheon on August 21 at Fallowfield United Methodist. We’ll be in pie baking mode that day.

Bea Klingensmith, Independent Gospel Missionary, spoke to Fallowfield United Methodist Women on July 27. Klingensmith has taught the Bible in Brazilian public schools since 1993. She has served as a missionary for 49 years in South America.

If you’re looking for a place to read, write, study, or hang out, stop by Fresh Grounds Coffee House & Café in Greenville. Located on Main Street in the old J.C. Penney building, the newly remodeled hardwood floor café offers a full menu of coffees, espressos, lattes, and teas. They also sell U’ll Scream gelato (Italian low-butterfat ice cream), and desserts.

This coffeehouse is staffed largely by volunteers and is a nonprofit Christian organization. The owners, Martha and Marty Johnson, wanted a safe place for high school and college-aged kids to hang out in the evenings.  It’s beautiful, but don’t take my word for it. Check it out yourself! Hours are Wednesday and Thursday, 7 a.m. – 4 p.m., and Friday and Saturday, 7 a.m. – 11 p.m.

 Have a wonderful week. Blessings!
