It would seem that our year is closing out quietly; no snow or blustery elements to speak of.

This could change on Monday night, December 19th, as the public is invited to attend a Zoning Board meeting at the North Shenango Town Hall at 6:00pm, concerning a possible Ordinance on Marcellus Shale Gas Drilling in our area.

Citizens should be attending all monthly Board meeetings, as North Shenango is gravely concerned with the integrity of Pymatuning Lake.

The Supervisors held a Town Hall meeting presenting the "con" or negative side of the issue, but have consistently invited any and all gas drillers to present their side of the issue at another meeting.

The Zoning Board will review the Ordinance proposal, which was drafted with help from township Solicitor, Alan Shaddinger.

The regular township December Board meeting will be held the following morning at 10:00am for the presentation of the Ordinance to the Board of Supervisors; this meeting is also open to the public.

The NST Board is strongly urging all citizens to have their water wells tested immediately.

Call the DEP in Meadville at 814-332- 6860.

An unbiased third party should obtain the water samples and contact the PA state labratory to determine their current status as their accreditation approval can expire without notice, thus rendering any test useless and non-usable in a court of law.

The website is www.depweb.state.pa.us

Suggested Pre-drill Ananlyses Parameters are; Chloride, hardness, Magnesium, Strontium, pH, Total Dissolved Solids, Oil and Grease, or Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons, possible Volatile Organic Compounds, Methane and Ethane.

Real estate value is at risk due to water well contamination.

Land owners should be aware of all possibilities of pollution such as noise, water and air.

The Espyville All-Boys Coffee Klatch has adjourned for the season.

Sadly, some of the members have passed away, while others have flown away to warmer climes.

Hot topics such as corn harvests, honey bee health and what the fish are biting on at Pymatuning Lake will have to wait until spring

to be debated again.

The Music Fests and Bonanza Bingo are over for now, but Li'l Bit Restaurant is still open and packing them in.

The Friday night Fish Dinners are really good and if Dave hasn't hogged all the Twinkies, maybe there will be some left for Roseanne.

Please keep the NSVFD 17 House in mind always, as they are still all-volunteer and depend on our generosity.

They continue to get up at all hours of the night to go out on daring fire and rescue missions and they deserve consideration when

donations are being given.

We all wait patiently for their next Chicken BBQ Dinner, I can taste that aromatic flavor yet.

Karen the Cougar continues to enjoy her retirement at the trailer in Espyville, living in sin with her much younger boyfriend, TommyBoy.

He crashed my Christmas Party again this year, wearing his same old tuxedo with white gloves.

Brian watches the Steelers every Sunday afternoon, but he would kill me if I told you he does it in his underwear.

Please review my CN horse articles on the web, "The Kiss of Life," and "The Trouble with Miss Lucy."

Consider adopting a dog; they provide watchman services and companionship for you in these troubling times.

Call your old friend, better yet, go and see them; you never know when they'll be gone for good.

Reminisce over old photograph and take a minute to realize how fabulous you really looked.

You weren't always so saggy; but you better take care of those knees, you'll miss them when they're gone.

Enjoy our beautiful Pymatuning Lake, it is wonderfully amazing at any time of year.

Do a true Christmas-spirit giving by donating to our Fire Department or the Kitten Care and Rescue over in Andover.

Both are non-profit, and donating to good causes will make your spirit much happier instead of accumulating materialistic toys.

Remember, it matters more what's in your heart than what is in your bank account; are you going to put all that in a U-Haul when you die and try to take it with you?

And do help that old lady cross the street, and be patient with others who walk or talk slow; that could very well be you, but for the grace of God...

Soon a fantastic New Year will be ushered in all over this still-great land of ours.

Thank a Veteran, kiss the dog, call your Mother and don't stay for one more drink.

Stick around in Espyville, where the people are friendlier, the fish are bigger, the beer is colder, the cows give more milk and old Steelers fans never die.

Folks, I have to say that writing Espyville Buzz has been my pleasure, entirely.

Thanks for reading it, and keep on buying the Community News.

Closing out for the last time this year to the immortal sounds of the Glenn Miller Band, sponsored by Chesterfields.
